Fei Tian Academy

Dance instruction at Fei Tian consists of three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Steadily progressing through these levels, along with ample performance opportunities, enables students to gradually master the profound knowledge and skills of Chinese dance.

Each level of dance instruction provides training at varying depths in the following areas:

• Fundamentals of Classical Chinese Dance
• Shen yun* (i.e., body articulation in classical Chinese dance, 身韻)
• Special Techniques in Classical Chinese Dance
• Chinese Folk and Ethnic Dances

*Note: This term (lower case “shen yun”) is completely distinct from the organization name Shen Yun Performing Arts, despite its being a homophone.

In addition to rigorous training in the dance fundamentals, Fei Tian Academy of the Arts offers students many performance opportunities both in the local community and at professional venues so that students may gain valuable performance experience.
