Language Program

In order to gauge a student’s potential for success within the demanding and intense program at the Fei Tian Academy, we complete a thorough evaluation using application information and recommendations. International students admitted to the Fei Tian Chinese Language and Culture Program, the English for Artists Program, or the English for Media Professionals Program will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) to obtain a student visa. We have a rolling admissions policy that admits students throughout the year.

Chinese Language and Culture Program

Applicants for the Chinese Language and Culture Program need not have any prior background in Chinese, but they must demonstrate a commitment to learning about Chinese language and culture within the context of an intensive immersion program. Those who are accepted into the program will take a Chinese language placement test after enrollment to be placed at the appropriate level.

English Language Programs

Applicants for the English for Artists (EFA) program should demonstrate working experience or prior education in the arts. Applicants for the English for Media Professionals (EMP) program should demonstrate working experience or prior education in journalism or other media-related fields. Applicants for either the EFA or EMP program must also have an appreciation for Chinese culture and a willingness to promote traditional Chinese arts because only then will they truly gain from the experience at Fei Tian. Those who are also interested in enrolling in the music, fine art, or dance program at the same time must audition and apply separately to the Arts Program. Students who are accepted into the EFA and EMP programs will be given an English language placement test after enrollment to ensure they are placed at the appropriate level.
