Graduation Requirements
As an arts institution of high caliber, Fei Tian Academy of the Arts aims to offer students a rigorous education in the arts, academics, as well as Chinese language and culture.
Students can only receive the Fei Tian Graduation Diploma if they have received both of the following:
1. The Fei Tian Certificate of Artistic Achievement in Dance, Music, or Fine Arts: for students who satisfactorily pass the Advanced Level of training in the chosen artistic program, and
2. The Fei Tian High School Academic Diploma for students who:
- complete all required high school courses (either at Fei Tian or at a prior school that meets State requirements),
- complete at least one year of study at Fei Tian except otherwise approved,
- successfully pass all State required exams, and
- pay all required tuition and fees.
The Fei Tian Academy of the Arts endorses the following high-school diplomas based on students’ academic performance:
- Basic Diploma. To receive a Basic Diploma endorsement, a student must achieve a minimum score of 65% on each State administered Regents examination in English, Global Studies, Math, Science, and US History and Government.
- Advanced Diploma. To receive an Advanced Diploma endorsement, a student must meet the criteria for the Basic Diploma and achieve a minimum score of 65% on an additional Math, Science, and Foreign Language Regents examination.
- Diploma with Honors. A student who achieves an average of 90% on all Regents examinations required for the Basic Diploma will receive a Diploma with Honors endorsement. A student who achieves an average of 90% on all Regents examinations required for the Advanced Diploma will receive an Advanced Diploma with Honors endorsement.
